It's the most wonderful time of the year - TURKEY TIME! The countdown has begun, as we as official 7 days out from Thanksgiving. Plans have been solidified and menus are being made. Holiday season is in full swing and sadly, it's a season of struggle. There is so much to do, only so many hours in a day and everywhere you look, SO MUCH FOOD. The weather outside is cold and frightful and your bed and a big bowl of comfort food sounds much more delightful.
Personal health seems to be the easiest area to slack on in an effort to "save time" but results in all of the sludgy sleepy feeeeeeels. I'm on a mission this season to help you find dishes to share with your family and friends that contribute to your health with the highest quality ingredients that you can confidently serve at your dining-room table or pass at the next holiday party.
After taking into consideration favorite food dishes shared by my friends, I've searched the depths of the internet and scanned through some of my favorite established blog sources to share their recipes with you. These recipes have taken a twist on the "classic" American dishes with simple ingredient swamps to increase intake of veggies and healthy fats, increase nutritional macro-nutrient value (aka vitamins and minerals), and cut down on carbo-loading with cleaner nutrient dense sources. I guarantee your stomach will be filled and your soul shall be satisfied, Enjoy!
Pumpkin Hummus
Perfect appetizer to pair with some veggies before the big feast.
Green Bean Casserole
My go to recipe!
Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Cinnamon Butternut Squash, Pecans and Cranberries
An amazing side dish to turkey or chicken, any time of year.
Cauliflower Rice Stuffing https://www.thehealthymaven.com/2015/11/cauliflower-rice-stuffing.html
Mashed Cauliflower
Butternut Squash Mac n Cheese
I shared this recipe at a Sunday lunch a few weeks ago. For the first time making it, I was extremely impressed! Lessons learned for next time:
1. Make and serve. The sauce sat rather thick after a night in the fridge. 2. Too much thyme leaves a bitter after last to the otherwise cheesy flavor.

Sweet Potato Casserole
**MY PERSONAL FAVORITE! I've shared this recipe at several functions and it has always been a crowd pleaser.
Sweet Potato and Cauliflower Mash
Pumpkin Desserts
Pumpkin and a little protein pow? Count me in!
BAKED PEARS WITH WALNUTS AND HONEY
Spiced Apples
Recommendations: trade butter for ghee and or coconut oil and brown sugar for coconut sugar.
Avocado Chocolate Mousse

I may or may not be impartial because it is from my book and all. ;)
